Partaking in the reconfiguration of the BIC site in Clichy, the agency is developing the project of a neighborhood which gathers programs of accommodation, co-living, nursery, students and elderlies’ residencies, activities and local businesses set on the ground floor of the buildings, as well as a tertiary pole oriented towards rue P. Bérégovov. The guidelines of this project have stemmed from the specificities of the city of Clichy. Far away from the usual scheme of the joint development zones, the project finds its ground in a dialogue and deepening of the qualities of the vicinities. The organization of the city reads easily, both its plots and materials appear clearly. The plot selection is inscribed in depth: in the alleyway, in the backyard and at the heart of the island. Yet the notion of street is preserved: some of the dead-ends are extended, enabling the neighborhood to reconnect with its context. The linearities of the streets are punctuated by events, places and constructions set inside an aerated fabric. These breaks allow for the implementation of pedestrian and cycling crossings, while attributing a privileged room for local businesses and terraces. Porches enable the connection with the hearts of the islands: a protected backspace. The new urban fabric is set in the depth of the new neighborhood and reconnect with a historical apparatus of facades shaping successive vertical plans, in a lag or in threading, sequencing the opened and shared spaces.
